Ground bushings

If a ground bushing is installed in lieu of a plastic bushing, are you required to bond the ground wire to the bushing even if the installation doesn't require a ground bushing?

I would say no as long as the raceway, box, etc.. are properly bonded. But that sure seems a bit pricey compared to a plastic bushing.

Just remove the lug. Then it is just a metal bushing with a threaded hole in the side.
