Is it me or why is it nobody makes a ground clamp for 1" copper which is 1-1/8" OD? The 1/2 to 3/4" clamp is too small. Next up is the 1-1/4 to 2" which is too big. But if I take that 1-1/4 to 2" clamp apart and flip the back it works but I'm wondering if that is code compliant.

What ground clamp are you using? The standard ground clamps from all the manufactures I have ever used are designed for up to 1" galvanized pipe so will easily fit 1" copper. I have never seen a clamp that only goes to 3/4".

OD of a 1" galvanized pipe should be around 1.25". A 3/4" galv pipe should be about 1" OD. Same as rigid conduit.
Now I see 1.315 from a different chart, that's why I said I didn't believe only 1". Probably the ID.

But looking at the 1/2 to 1" clamps I have (from a supply house) they are all the same, almost make 1.125" but too small. No way will they fit around 1.315". Ran to Lowes and got the larger one and looked at the 1/2 to 1" they had. Looked the same as what I had.

I wonder if the size marked is for copper pipe. Copper pipe is smaller than galvanized pipe for a given trade size. It is and more like EMT trade size which is also a tube and not a pipe.
