I have a 100A disconnect on a pole that is going to feed a mobile home. The problem is that the neutral bar doesn
't have room to accommodate both the neutral and the ground connection. Question; Can I attach a bolt-on lug by machine screw to the enclosure to pick up the ground wire. This is the main service and the enclosure is bonded to the neutral bar.

Re: ground connection

Nope. By doing so you will be depending on the enclosure for bonding between the neutral and GEC. Not good for this bonding jumper. The only way to do this is to buy the right equipment in the first place, or to buy the manufacturer's approved kit to make it so.

Re: ground connection

you will need a main disconnect that is service rated with a full bondable neutral bar with lugs for the service neutral and load side neutral and ground. remember the ground wire leaving this disconnect has to be insulated all the way to the trailer panel. and this disconnect has to be within 30' of the trailer.

Re: ground connection

250.28 tells us what the main bonding jumper is used for: to connect the EGCs and the enclosure to the grounded conductor. It must also be unspliced. Running it through the enclosure for continuity is worse than splicing it.
