GROUND CONNECTIONS

What is the best method of attaching a bare copper ground cable to building steel for grounding purposes? I have seen studs welded onto the beam then a lug crimped onto the copper cable which is then bolted on but I am not sure I like that method since the ground impedance depends on a relatively small point of attachment. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Re: GROUND CONNECTIONS

Exothermic welding like "Cadweld" is probably about the best connection that can be made, however, the method you describe doesn't sound all that bad.
