I still use Copper Ground crimps for all of my equipment ground connections. I use STA-KON crimping pliers because that is the tool recommended for the crimp. I have come across some homes wired by other electreical companies who use the crimps, but use their diagonal cutters to crimp. It seems to work fine, is this an issue that should be called on rough inspection? Why buy a 30$ pair of additional pliers if the diagonal in your bag will work just as well?

Any comments?

Yes, this is a violation. Only the tool listed for the crimp is acceptable. Gimme a break....a $30 tool is the issue?

Do you really think crimping with a pair of dikes is going to make a good connection? I have seen it done that way and the crimps usually come right off with no effort.
