Background: Using a Mentor II drive, a standard 40HP motor with brushes, and a std field control card. The drive is mounted and bonded in spec with the MFR DOC's.

I have confirmed current on the ground conductor increases proportionally, (0-4 Amps), as the DC drive commands motor speed to increase. I have traced this increase to the ground conductor from the motor.

I have also found, using a o-scope, 120VAC wave floating on the cabinet ground which remains with all power locked out. I haven't found the source yet.

My thoughts on the ground current vary from a dirty motor allowing leakage, to somehow the stray 120VAC is causing some disturbance in the magnetic fields.

Any thoughts or experiences with this situation may help. Thanks in advance..
