Ground Fault devices fed from Arc fault circuit

I learned this morning that my residential wire men have found this labor saving idea (they're always looking for those). It seems they have started providing power for the ground fault receptacle(s) on the rear of the house from the arc fault protected circuit in a nearby bedroom. The GFI device is housed in one of the exterior receptacles thereby providing Ground fault and arc fault protection?

On the surface, this doesn't sound like a wise thing to do, but maybe I can't see the forest for the trees.

I was under the impression that the ideal method was to isolate the bedroom outlets and lights (as well as those in the closets) and place them on Arc fault devices. I'm just not comfortable with the ground fault being fed off that circuit.

Should I be?

Re: Ground Fault devices fed from Arc fault circuit

It will work, is OK per NEC, but if it trips the AFCI:
Homeowner calls a electrician
Electrician finds outside GFCI fed from AFCI
He may have to correct this installation, and will blame the installer.
Will it trip on Arc Fault? probably not. But AFCI cb's do have 50 mA GFPE, however with the GFCI downstream the GFCI would trip on a ground fault first.
