I'm looking to add a lightning protection system to a very old building that is being completely renovated (all new distribution equipment). We will be installing a new grounding electrode system to support the new service entrance (though its unclear to me if a Ufer even exists in this building). Given that we're adding a LPS, does it make sense to add a ground ring to supplement the GES & tie the LPS to? There are some site constraints that would make adding a ground ring difficult, and this is a simple office building so I'm leaning towards it being not worth the cost. Thoughts?
