I read that four times in my confusion. I think you meant electro-galvanized, a type of galvanizing. The second "electrode" threw me because we are talking about electrodes.

Typo, I know, but more proofreading on your end means less confusion/time on our end.

Yes, as mentioned, it's quite common.
