Is their a limit to how close to the foundation you can install a ground rod . 2020 nec. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree no but it might be more effective if it were further away.

If you're close to the stem wall you're more likely to run into the footing, and if you're too close to the footing you may run into the footing drain.

Meaning you probably won't get near 25ohms either way.

Yup but we've been told that it still works better when surrounded by more dirt.

I've hit the footing once or twice.

I always drive about a foot out from the wall. Otherwise I usually hit the footer.
