Ground stingers..

Are metal boxes installed above 8' required to be bonded to the EGC by means of a stinger? I was told that 250.110(1) omits that practice due to the height above the floor. I was under the thinking that 250.110(1) pertained to the equipment, not the raceway. If I am right, can someone give me c ode reference?

I think the metal box, in most cases, would need to be grounded based on #5. Remember if any of the conditions apply then it must be grounded. I am not sure of many situation where this would apply.
