Ground up on outlet with metal plate

Hello
i can’t seem to find it in the code but it has been common practice at my company to put the ground up when using a metal plate. A lot of guys think it’s a code, is it? I guess the theory behind it makes sense, if the plate was to shake loose (very rare, but possible) it would fall and short out.

The NEC does not care. Both are fine and legal. Myth that it is or was ever code mandated that it be one orientation or the other.
 
It's in the Urban Legend Electrical Code. 3125.934(A)(17)(c)(614.2). Right after 'No Wire Nuts Allowed in Panels'.

Some jobs will have the requirement as a specification, but that's strictly a design choice.
