I see in several trade journals that the Equipment grounding conductor is NOT required to be broken Unless terminated in the Box.250.148
What if a Metal Box is used with a nonconductive raceways?? Then If the Gr wire passes thur???

Re: Ground wire passing Thru Boxes unbroken

This section does not relax the requirement of grounding (bonding) a metallic box when used with a non-metallic raceway method.

If the box is grounded (bonded) by some other means such as a metallic raceway, then yes, the EGC not spliced can be pulled through without terminating to that box. However, section 250.80 and 250.86 require the box the be grounded by some means. The most practical way to do so is by attachment of the egc pulled through the box.

I agree BUT most articles dealing with with just
Talk about being able to Pass Thru the box if not broken they should show that there are Exceptions such as this!!!

Re: Ground wire passing Thru Boxes unbroken

I Agree but most articles and code change books do not deal with conductive boxes and noconductive Raceways! They just say If not broken can pass right thru. There should be an Exception There pointing that out.

Re: Ground wire passing Thru Boxes unbroken

I know that the equipment grounding wire must be bonded to the box in that case But it should be referenced in 250.148 and mentioned in text on the subject . Don't you Agree??? Most code interpetion books don't mention that fact!
