Does anyone know when grounded 3 prong receptacles were first required by code, What year code cycle?

Don't know if it was the first code cycle, but my earliest book, (1947) required the laundry area receptacle to be of the grounding type.

I believe it was 1968.

In 1965 the code languate (410-55) referred to grounding type receptacles, but the language does not appear to mandate a grounding type receptacle.
"Receptacles and cord connectors which are installed to provide for an equipment grounding connection...shall have one fixed grounding member..."

In 1968 the language appears to mandate a grounding type receptacle.

410-55(a) ' Receptacles, cord connectors and attachment plugs of the grounding type shall be provided...".
