I am getting mixed opinions on a grounding question and was wondering if anyone could help me out and provide some NEC documentation to back it up. In a residential setting (mostly town houses and condos) I have the need to place a Fiber optic terminal in a metal (outdoor rated) cabinet. Some other details: The fiber optic cable runs through plastic conduit which is turned up onto the outer wall of the building and runs straight into the metal box. The terminal itself is made of plastic and does not require any grounding. Does this metal box still need to be grounded? Any help or comments would be very much appreciated.

Given the wording of 770.3 and the lack of a reference in Article 770 that requires this box to be grounded or bonded, the code does not require grounding or bonding of this enclosure.
