Does anyone have any good diagrams or a standard way they always go about grounding a new service on a existing commercial building. Typically I do 3 pipes if the main disconnect is outside. 1 down to the ground rods, 1 out of the top and into building to hit steel and 1 down thru the ground and run to where the water is brought into building and run pipe out of ground up building a few feet and blow a hole thru the wall and hit the water. This whole process seems like there should be an easier way. What do you guys do?

There is no standard way. Basically whatever is either speced, easiest, or preferred.

Note that if these pipes/conduits you use are ferrous metal (steel RMC/IMC/EMT etc) and contain a GEC, you have to bond both ends.

Also, unless speced, if you qualified electrodes with building steel and water line, the rods are not needed.

Last thing, if the rebar in the footing/foundation qualifies as an electrode/CEE and you can get to it before the pour, make sure you hit that also.
