2 part question

1. What are the names of the ground rods if you drive 2 rods
For example 1st rod primary and 2nd rod supplemental

2nd question no ufer available, plastic water pipe, no building steel
Are 2 ground rods considered a complete grounding system

Thanks

1) Nowhere in Article 250 is the word primary used to describe an electrode. If it qualifies as an electrode then it must be used as part of the GES (grounding electrode system). Some electrodes like a water pipe require a supplemental electrode.

2) Two ground rods are considered to be an electrode. If that is the only electrode available then yes it is a GES.

Welcome to the Forum. :)

thank you ill print this for the inspector he said the ground rods are supplemental and don't count at all towards the grounding electrode system and I'm tired of " discussing " it with him
thanks for the reply and ill note its not primary that's just the word he used and I didn't know what other one to reference
he was calling both rods supplemental and i knew it was wrong but didn't know how to argue it with him
the ufers are fiber and not metal which started this whole issue

Ask for specific code references, they should be given to you when there is a violation so you can look them up and see if you agree with the inspector.
