I just got knocked down for using reducing washers on some EMT trunk lines.
I was trying to line up the conduits on my strut evenly and had to open the
1/2 knockout to a 3/4 knockout. Anyway the hole had to be a little egg
shaped to get the locknut on. I also installed 2 - 3/4 inch donuts to cover up
the little of exposed opening. It was done on 3 pipes all conductors 120 volt to ground not 250 volt. I thought that the reducing washers are UL approved
and thought that if made up tight it was a legal equipment ground.
