Grounding conductor count toward conduit fill?

Somewhere in my head, I seem to remember an exemption that a grounding conductor doesn't count in the conduit fill calculation. For example, I can install (3) #2 THWN's in a 1" conduit, and also run a #6 grounding conductor.

But I haven't found that exception in the 2014 NEC.

Am I mistaken? Code reference please?

No exceptions that I know of. See the notes to Chapter 9 Tables especially note #3.
