Grounding Elec. Con. Burial Depth?!

Cannot find clear answer in NEC or Postings, for burial depth for the GEC between two 8' groundrods...6 feet apart. Any specific references would be greatly appreciated.

You can not find it because none exists.

The GEC has no required burial depth.

I agree with Bob, although I have heard guys reference table 300.5 which IMO doesn't apply.

Not burying it to table 300.5 depths probably qualifies the GEC as "subject to physical damage" and might make you jump it up to #4 or sleeve it in a raceway, however.

CMP has rejected all proposals on burial depth, its obvious what it is, and they don't want it running up and down from the ditch to the rod.
