Hello all,

I have a questions about chassis grounding a fire alarm panel.

I have a single phase 208V fire alarm panel that is tapped before the main service switch via a disconnect. Now I was told that I need to ground the chassis and wanted to know if I could either ground it to the main grounding electrode or just ground it to the structural steel.

That disconnect is a service disconnect and should have a main bonding jumper. The EGC for the fire alarm panel will originate in that disconnect.
