I would like if someone could refer me to the section in the NEC codes book 1999 version that states that a swtich needs to be grounded to the box by a bonding jumper. The inspector is requiring that we ground the switches in this way but i have not been able to find anythng in NEC 1999 that states this....Please Reply

Re: grounding for switch

The code says "shall provide a means to ground metal faceplates, whether or not a metal faceplate is installed"

Re: grounding for switch

See 380-9(b) in the '99 code or 404.9(B) in the '02 code. In both cases, if the box is metallic, the switch mounting screws are permitted to serve as the grounding path. If the box is nonmetallic, an EGC must be connected to the switch yoke.
