something i am working on today

i installed lots of nuheat over the years and for the grounding jacket i used to just nuheat ground.jpg
trim back a long6-8" length of the jackets and then
braid them together and then get them under a wirenut to the ground wire in the box.

i am working a repair call and the cables are cut real short
the jacket is real short
and it is not connected to the ground anyway!

So, how would you recommend to connect the jacket to the ground?
I was thinking about
stripping back what little jacket there is
and then, perhaps, soldering that little bit to a small gauge piece of stranded
and bundle them together to the GEC

any other idears?
Thanks so much!

Solder is not permitted for a grounding connection. 250.8(B)
I would look at a bare crimp on butt splice, but you might not have enough room to get the crimp tool in to make the crimp.

Easy to find Butt Connectors

Radio Shack sells the butt connectors. They have a couple different sizes that come mixed in a bag. The RS P/N is 64-3036.
