Grounding of Facade

Is it required to ground the exterior metal facade of a building if there is no physcial contact between the exterior metal facade and building steel. The connections between the facade and building steel have a thermal break between them along with rubber bushing at the bolted connections.

No. Metal parts of a building do not require grounding. That is, connection to the earth. However, you may need to bond the structure, if and only if, it is LIKELY to become energized. This would be based on the judgment of the AHJ.

(I assume you are not referring to lightning protection)
