Can anyone tell me were in the code it states there has to be a supplemental earth ground for each light pole and what size it needs to be. thanks in advance.

Re: grounding of pole lights

No, because it does not exist. It is a design issue, not code. However IMO a light pole is a stand alone structure which can be supplemented with a ground electrode for added lightning protection. Usually the re-bar (Ufer) in the foundation is sufficient for the purpose. Since it is not required by code you can use any size conductor you wish. I specify # 6 AWG.
