Grounding outdoor light fixture

We have a situation where there is an outdoor light fixture that was installed without a ground. It also has no conduit run to it and is installed on a decorative foam door frame with only the separate stranded neutral and hot wires protruding through a hole in the foam to feed the fixture. We cannot find the junction box that feeds the light since it is apparently buried beneath the door frame. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions. Due to the fact that hot and neutral wires are not protected and we can't find the J box, is our only option to run some new conduit through the wall from another known J box?
Does anyone have any other ideas that will meet code? Thanks in advance.

New conduit and conductors.

Even with the EGC issue at hand, the box can not be concealed and besides, if you can not trace this wiring (and it's jacket or raceway) back to the j box you can not be assured the wiring is safe.

What is your role here? Your profile describes you as an engineer (just as mine does). Are you the homeowner, and are you planning to replace an existing light fixture? If so, then we cannot offer any advice or assistance.

Please send me a Private Message with a description of the situation. In the mean time, I will close this thread.
