E eelelectric New member May 19, 2009 #1 In n.y.c. Do I need to install a green tail from the receptacle to the steel drywall box???
infinity Moderator Staff member Location New Jersey Occupation Journeyman Electrician May 20, 2009 #2 The answer is yes, unless you're using a self grounding receptacle in a box that is already properly grounded, then no tail is required. The NYC electrical code is based on the 2005 NEC and has almost no modifications of NEC article 250. Welcome to the forum.
