I have a metal control cabinet from a UK manufacturer. It contains a Double Insulated Class 2 power supply with an electrical cord that plugs into the power supply. The cord enters through a grommet insulated knockout. There is no ground wire. I have three questions.
1. For commercial use, does the cabinet have to be NEMA-1 rated?
2. Is an appropriate electrical ground required in the cabinet, base and door connection (hinged door)?
3. If the cabinet was plastic instead of metal, would this negate the grounding requirement?
