Grounding requirments for above ground pools

I have an above ground pool with a 120V pump motor. I installed a weather proof switch and duplex receptacle with WP in use cover on a post next to the pump. The receptacle is fed by a GFCI circuit breaker. The pump came with a standard 120V/15A plug installed from the factory. Also ran#6 from the ground lug on side of the pump motor to the pool frame. It should also be noted the sides of the pool are 48" Getting ready to have it inspected. Am I missing anything? Would appreciate any input.

Thanks,

Dave

I'll open the gate :D

If you ran a #6 to the pool frame, I ASSUME the frame is metallic.
Around here, with a metal frame and a water depth > 42", the pool would be a "permanently installed pool" vs a "storable pool" and Art 680 Part II rules would apply, including a bonding grid.
I have found controversy on this to say the least.
Did you happen to note (a) was the pump identified for a "storable pool" ?
or (b) did the pump have a 25 ft non-detachable cord ?

UL listed pumps for non-permanent pools are supposed to have a 25 ft non-detachable cord.

All I can say is the last time I did an above ground I had to run a bare conductor all the way around the pool attaching it to the metal frame at a certain interval. It might have been every other one or something.

This actually sounds like a good idea, and one that I might make happen on my own pool. I know, however, that when I was installing above-ground pools (more than 5 yrs ago), we never ran all the way around it, but did just what the OP did.

Also, to the OP: Our above-ground pool installs were always like what you mentioned with a deeply sunk 4x4 post to mount the receptacle. We also had a switch in there which makes it so much more convenient for the Homeowner to turn the thin on and off as they maintain their pool, with backwashing filter maintenance, etc. I would HATE to have to unplug my pump every time I wanted to turn it off for a couple seconds to reset a valve for the heater, or filter, or whatever.

Pump is marked ?For Permanent Installation?
Pump has a 3? cord and plug
Also the pool has a vinyl liner

Confirms the "permanent pool" status if it were in this area. All sections Part II would apply, but it sure would pay to ask your AHJ as experience has shown thats not how everyone looks at it.
