Grounding Satellite TV Dish

There is a roof mounted DirecTV satellite dish on the back side of a ranch house with a basement. Three eight foot long 5/8" copper ground rods are bonded with #6 AWG bare copper wire and one main ground rod is tied to the neutral bar in the panel. All of the ground rods are over 20 feet apart. The messenger cable has been run across the gutters, down along the downspout, then buried along the wall, looped over the HVAC line sets about 20 feet to the point of entry into the basement. The messenger ground wire is attached to the dish roof mount as per the installation instructions posted on the DirecTV website. The messenger ground is then attached to the ground block inside the basement with a #10 AWG ground wire on the other side of the ground block that has been run back outside to the third copper ground rod that is bonded to the house ground system. An additional #14 AWG ground wire has been attached to the roof mounting base of the dish mast on the roof about one foot away from the messenger ground's point of attachment to the dish. The #14 AWG wire then passes over the gutter, then along the downspout, then to the second copper ground rod that is also bonded to the main house ground rod near the discharge point of the gutter downspout.

IS THIS SECOND #14 AWG GROUND WIRE NECESSARY? Is it considered to be an acceptable ground point, or completely unnecessary?
