I have an existing service about 30’ to dock stairs give or take another 10’ to water, existing service is meter base as well as 40amp double pole witch is currently feeding doc, there is no ground rods or no bond between neutral coming in from power company. I want to upgrade my breaker size so I can park an rv. By doing so should I add 2 ground rods roughly 40’ from water to my service?

Your service disconnect(s) should have a MBJ and grounding electrode system.

right, so when I upgrade my breaker, I plan on removing existing enclosure and putting an outside panel to feed both but I just wanted to
Make sure there wasn’t a reason on why someone didn’t add a grounding electrode. I might have thought since it was close to the water. Thanks

What would being close to water have to do with having ground rods/electrodes?
