grounding subpanels

i have 2 questions first can you tell me if a ground bar's required in a service panel and second if not do you land both the ground and neutral wire to the neutral buss when wiring a subpanel. thanx in advance :confused:

Freewm, I dont want to sound like I dont want to help, but this exact topic has been covered exhaustively on other threads throughout Grounding and Bonding.

I would review these topics first to see if these clear your questions and then ask a more specific question if you still feel the need.

There are just too many variables and alternative conditions that will change the grounding setup of service and sub equipment.

Generally speaking, the grounded and grounding conductors need to be separated in a sub-panel. The only place that the grounded and grounding bond is made is at the main service disconnect.
Variables included wiring to separate buildings with no conductive paths and a few separately derived system considerations. :)
