Hi guys, I am sorry if this is in the wrong place. Feel free to move it if necessary.
I have what I believe to be a seriously stupid question. How can you ground the secondary on a transformer? I know its advantages. And I know, for example that your neutral in house wiring is grounded and understand why. However with a transformer, I am confused as to why the current doesnt just short directly to ground across the windings. What makes it go through a load when it clearly (at least to me) has a path straight to ground?
Thanks guys.
