Grounding

I am installing a generator and need to run all the ground wires to sub panel. Can I tie all 14 gauge wires To 1 NUMBERI 4 ground wire in take to ground bar.I know you can take several ground wires and send them 1 wire back to the panel to keep from hAVING several groundS in the conduit. Does this apply In THE electrical panel and if I can'tI WHERE in the code DOES it say I cannot .

For clarification: Are you speaking of equipment grounding conductors or grounded (neutral) conductors ?
