Grounding

I have two 600 amp overhead services side by side.
Two 600 amp buss gutters. Below each buss gutter is one 400 amp meter main & one 200 amp meter main, with 1000 mcm alum going up each riser. Each overhead service has its own 3/4 x 10' ground rod each ground rod is 6' apart with a 2/0 cu ground wire bonded to 400 amp neutral buss.
Do I need a ground for each 200 amp main.

Each service needs a grounding electrode system, as 250.58 tells you, there must only be ONE GE system at a structure so I would advise a bonding jumper between them.

First of all, the conductor to the rods never needs to be larger than a #6 copper, no matter how large the service, and even if the rods are the only electrodes.

Second, like Mr. Beer said, all you need to do is place a jumper between the two rods, giving each service two rods, and making it a single-electrode-system system.

Third, you can bring the #6's out of the gutters rather than the disco's, eliminating the last part of your question.
