Generally, you don't see either word on its own. Each usually has another word or two either before it, or after it, or both. Examples include "Grounding Electrode Conductor," and "Equipment Grounding Conductor," and "Grounded Conductor." Confusing, isn't it?
Ultimately, each word has something to do with a connection to planet Earth. Indeed, some countries use the word "earthing," instead of "grounding." One way to think of the difference is that "grounded" refers to a conductor that is itself connected to planet Earth, and that "grounding" is more often used for a conductor that connects something else (like the external metal parts of a motor or a panelboard) to planet Earth.
It's going to be a long haul, if you hope to learn all the terms that have the six letters "ground" associated with them. So please be patient.
