guidelines for foundries

help! i am trying to establish a guidline for current or future electrical work in a foundry. where can i find the guidlines for determining what type of equiptment can be installed at the moment i am assuming due to the foundry process that everything has to be nema 12 (dustproof). but i need it in writing.

most plants have electrical specs they use. you would need to get their specs. there is no foundry spec.

type 12 cabinets are a common minimum spec, but some plants prefer SS enclosures because there is no paint to scratch off. other plants like FRP because it won't corrode. some places don't like FRP because it chips.

in many cases you have mixtures of enclosure types based on what the equipment supplier supplied, or special conditions where the equipment is located.
