Gutter VS Trough or Wireway

Trough and wireway are really the same thing, just different names for them. I am sure there will be others who call them something else entirely... a local thing.

Gutter to me is the space within the enclosure, as long as it is not raining...:D

I have to disagree here. Wireways are covered by Article 376, trays are covered by Article 392.

A cable tray is not a raceway but is a mechanical support system. A wireway is a raceway. Therefore a ventilated trough is not the same as a wireway trough even though the NEC uses the word trough in the cable tray definition.
