Hadco step lights in concrete

I am trying to set 12 step lights in place prior to pour. The step lights are going in the top tread and needs to be mounted. These lights come with a bracket. I was thinking to drive stake into ground and screwing threw back of fixture making sure I was 2 inches out of the tread for rock. I am also leaning on the concrete contractor to help with setting

12-STEP? LIGHTS?!?!?

Whooo - OK back to electricical topics....

Yes I agree - lean on the concrete guy. Not his forms - no better way to tick off a concrete guy. There seems to be no other trade that tries to remain as mysterious than them in terms of layout and dimention. I find it best to get with them and follow thier layouts - that is if they are not winging it - double check. They find AFF - half the time it is off a bit - you find one might be the same - get the GC to find one and both stick to it - IMO. Nice red line...

Not sure where you're going with driving a stake in the ground? I usually attach to the form in one way or the other. (If concrete is the finish....)
2 inches out of the tread for rock
Need to know more here????

It seems to be a bit a
of a trick to mount to form but i must find a way. Fixture is round with flat bracket and form is some type of 3/8 inch non wood board. There will be 2 inches of rock on top of concrete so fixture will poke threw form.

I cut the form and stick the fixture out far enough to be flush with the calculated finish. Hopefully you have decent brackets or you will have to make your own
If the finish is just a sealer I bolt it to the form.
Just make sure you strip your own forms.

Or if you dont have a large ego, and you can communicate with the forming contractor, ask him what he has seen done on other jobs

The last step lights I did came with a mounting bracket that screwed to the light , were the cover goes, with two 2" threaded bolts that were slid thru the forms and wing nuts were used to tighten them down

In my area if I cut a form without talking to the form guy first I would most likely be used as backfill.

Any step lights I have done we screwed to the forms the concrete was finish so it was easy.

The concrete carpenter should cut the holes for your fixtures and they should somehow be attached to the forms. Are you going from fixture to fixture with conduit?

Yeah thats why I used the term "communicate". Sometimes we have a language barrier and they dont care, sometimes you can get shot!
