Hi all,
I’m new here so I apologize in advance.

I’ve got a client that has a receptacle in the back of a cabinet that keeps giving me trouble. Years ago, half the receptacle stopped working I opened up the box and everything looked textbook, no switched hot or broken/burnt tabs.

I replaced the 20 year old receptacle with a new heavy duty one, solving the problem. About six weeks later half the receptacle dies again.

I want to make it abundantly clear that this receptacle is being served by one feed which is pigtailed. Only a 12/2 in and 12/2 out. Rewired in 1990s, no Mickey Mouse anywhere that I can tell.

This is really baffling me, I’m going to replace the receptacle again but I don't want to do a service call and feed this house receptacles every month. Any insight is appreciated greatly.

Thanks in advance.
