Halo Trim and insulation

I have been in my house now for 5 years. When purchased, we went up and out. The out part is a den (with a small bit of the kitchen) that initially was exposed on the bottom, 3 side walls, and the roof. I later enclosed the space under and made it conditioned space. In order to minimize exposure, I insulated R38 in the floors, R15 in the walls, and R60 in the attic. I now have 2 4" Halo eyeballs that have turned a brownish color, and the paint is coming off of the metal. I have a 6" Halo can with eyeball trim that is also brownish yellow. These fixtures are used often. The 4" shine on table and the 6" on the sink. They have never had a larger than permitted bulb in them. My only guess is the heavy amount of attic insulation (blown cellulose) traps enough heat to age the trim but not trip the thermal overload. These are also the only trims that have done this.

Of course I e-mailed Halo and found they offer a 1 year warranty on their trims.

Anyway, if you ever see this condition, it may be caused by a heavy layer of insulation.
