What type of splice connectors do you all use in hand holes?

The DB rated wire nuts work really well for 12 and under.
Or Polaris, and Burndy make nice connector tap type connectors
3M scotchcast kits are probably the best, but they are permanent.
For a butt splice, heat shrink with the sealer, heavy wall is also good.

I prefer the heavy wall heat shrink with sealer followed by the scotch cast---also two wraps of 33 over the splice prior to sealing

I've done a lot of submersible pump cable splicing, 200-300 ft of water, never had one fail. Started with a roll of 33 and scotchcoat, now just use heavy wall heat shrink, and then 33 over it.

Thanks. Wasn't sure if DB were required or not.
The connection that failed is copper spliced to aluminum in a split bolt with a gob of duct seal and friction tape.
I'm going to replace the aluminum with copper conductors and re-splice.
