Re: HAPPY FOURTH

Keep in mind that today is the day that we celebrate the event of our having declared our independence. We did not actually possess that independence until later, and only after a number of brave men and women gave their lives in its achievement. Although ?Veteran?s Day? is still four months off, let us today and every day keep in our minds, our hearts, and our prayers all of the brave men and women in our armed forces, those serving both abroad and nearer to home, all of whom have pledged their lives in defense of that independence.

Re: HAPPY FOURTH

Our local newspaper printed the entire Declaration of Independence on the editorial page this morning. I think it would be good for all of us to read it more often. Maybe we would appreciate more what we so often take for granted.
