I'm getting some mixed information about getting my Harrisburg PA masters license.
I own a successful legitimate electrical contracting company in the Harrisburg, West Shore area. I started my company about 4 years ago. Last year I grossed over 100K and this year so far I've beat that.
That being said I have no license. No journeyman's, no nothing. I've never worked an apprenticeship under another electrician. I had schooling but that's about it.
I've done electrical work my entire life and constantly study the NEC. I've had some help over the years but I basically have taught myself the trade.
I've decided recently to go for my Harrisburg Masters license and I'm getting mixed opinions on doing this.
I've been consulting with one of the electrical instructors at H.A.C.C. He's telling me, along with some other electricians, to take the I.C.C. masters test and after passing submit it to Harrisburg with proof of work experience and history. He's telling me that will be sufficient.
Now some others are telling me that I must do an apprenticeship and get my journeyman's license first. There's absolutely no way I can afford to do an apprenticeship.
Can you please give me your feedback.
