Maybe they're onto the game.
I've been hearing about an engineering shortage "forever". It's like a car dealer saying "We're overstocked" (so you can easily take advantage of us.)
It's win-win for the person who says it, because they can always come up with a reason to refuse the applicant.
When Clinton said a few years ago that there was an engineering shortage, surprise, surprise, my phone did not ring off the wall. It's a crock. They don't want old people 'cause we know too much.
But, there is a shortage of engineers who are willing to work for peanuts.
Doctors and lawyers are more politically savvy, so they limit how many are in their profession. The engineers could exercise some leverage, too, by taking back everyone's digital watches and medical equipment, but they don't.
