Has anyone used the new Enphase ESS? Curious of any feedback and how it may differ from other similar setups.

Thanks

Yes. I would recommend it.

As far as design and installation, it's broadly similar to Tesla, main difference being that you have to wire the batteries to the Enpower Switch (i.e. the gateway) and not to a backup loads panel. Also currently they are only supporting their own solar inverters, IQ presently and M-Series very soon.

The battery design is really nice in terms of being easy to install. For safety reasons they say two people should lift each battery but a larger guy could install it alone.

So they could easily be stacked for a whole home backup? Do they just get landed in parallel at the Enpower Switch when multiple units are used? I watched their video but not everything was crystal clear. Thanks

You can put 6 Encharge battery units on a 40A breaker. (That's two Encharge 10 or 6 Encharge 3.) If you have more than that you can use a small sub to combine them before going to the switch. Yes, it's all parallel connections, like with the roof inverters.

And they use their own micro inverters, Correct. How does the surge capacity and reliability compare to a Schneider XW or an Outback Radian?
