Hazardous locations

I am looking for some help in the code book for a class 1 div 1 group c and a class 1 div 2 group c where can I fine them at

Somewhere in Art. 501. Sorry not more specific. Do not have code book at the moment. Here is an OSHA article on Hazardous Locations.

The basic definitons for Classes and Divisions are in Article 500, Sections 500.5 (A) and (B). Groups are defined in 500.6; Group C is specifically defined in 500.6(A)(3). You will also want to review 500.8 especially for "T-codes" but it contains other important general requirements. Installation requirements for all Class I locations are in Article 501. (Obviously, I'm going to encourage getting familiar with all of Articles 500 and 501 eventually - the sooner, the better)

If you have access to the Internet, you have access to the NEC here. [Edit add: See, "View the document online (read only)"] It's tough to use at first, but you get used to it - and it's perfectly legal since its posted by NFPA directly. It only "costs" a one-time free registration. I use the service quite often now for many NFPA documents.

It's tough to use at first

They made the NEC real tough, they changed the table of contents search function to Chapters only not articles. You have to start at the beginning and work your way forward through the whole chapter to get to an article or go to the next chapter and go backwards. Very PITA

I was just starting to use the on-line version regularly when they changed it.
