We do a good bit of long underground lighting and general use circuits and we started to see a good chunck of labor is blowing strings. I’ve got a price on HDPE with string pre installed have any of you used it and what are the options for couplings?

Why not go all the way and use "nonmetallic underground conduit with conductors (NUCC)"? HDPE with the conductors preinstalled, and run in one length from point to point.

Not sure where you find mechanical couplings for HDPE conduit as 353.6 requires the conduit and fittings to be listed. The informational note following section 353. 48, Joints, says:
"Informational Note:
HDPE conduit can be joined using either heat fusion, electrofusion, or mechanical fittings."

I actually just saw that before I read your comment that’s the way to go for sure. My supplier has a product called BONDUIT that they say allows you to glue directly into pvc fittings.
