maybe I have overlooked something, but I can not find the code reference to "no wire nuts in a panel board" relating to nursing home enviroments. The concept of not using for a junction box to pass thru makes sense, but as UL improves the standards for panel boards and like devices, they got larger. Is the extension of existing wires to reach the breakers acceptable? Is there a reference in the NEC? Thank you.

There is no reference to "no wirenuts in a panelboard" in the NEC, that I know.

The only condition is having adaquate space in the wire way or gutter portion of the panel.
