Health Care Feeder

517.13 requires a metal raceway system and an insuated equiment grounding conductor for BRANCH circuits in patient care areas.
I do not see a like requirement for feeders. Is it permissible to feed a sub panel for patient care areas with a 4 wire SER cable ?

Do your feeders as you normally would. A branch circuit is not a feeder, and 517 only cares about the branch circuits serving the patient care areas. See the definition of "feeder" and "branch circuit" in Article 100 if it's still fuzzy for you.

I've got feeders vs branch circuits down fairly well, I've just not encountered health-care with SER in any previous inspections and thought I might be overlooking something.
